The Louisiana Sisters Cocktail Competition will be at the Southern Food and Beverage Museum Wednesday, March 4, from 6-8:30 p.m. and will feature live music from The Breton Sound, with So Long Storyland opening, light bites from St. Lawrence and nine original craft cocktails inspired by Louisiana Sisters spiced gourmet foods.

Nine local bartenders are challenged to create craft cocktails using at least one of the three Louisiana Sisters products, which include an All Natural Bloody Mary Mix, Spiced Olives and a Pepper Jelly, as well as a spirit of their choice provided by Donner-Peltier Distillers and Cathead Vodka for the public to vote on and a panel of local celebrity judges to determine the winner.

A panel of local celebrity judges, which include Ann Tuennerman of Tales of the Cocktail, Lauren Thom of Fleurty Girl, Kenny Lopez from WGNO and Tim McNally from WGSO 990AM. They will base each beverage on four criteria – smell, taste, appeal and presentation.

The event is free and open to the public ages 21+, but guests are encouraged to register online to ensure entry: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/louisiana-sisters-cocktail-competition-tickets-15835909632. Guests will have the opportunity to vote on their favorite cocktail, which will be counted towards the final vote. The grand prize for the winning cocktail will be a year supply of all three Louisiana Sisters’ products, along with $150 from Donner-Peltier Distillers, two tickets to Gambit’s Food Revue , lagniappe from Tales of the Cocktail and a victors trophy from Yelp!

“We are honored to work with bar talent from around the city and see how they use our products to create specialty cocktails that truly showcase southern brands and flavors,” said Sharon Mahne, owner of Louisiana Sisters. “Between the new Southern Food and Beverage Museum space, The Breton Sound performance, fare and cocktails from some of the city’s biggest names in the restaurant/bar scene, this is one event not to be missed!”
